Biography
Desirée Oliveira is originally from Brazil and joined the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at BYU as an Assistant Professor of Portuguese in 2022. She received her PhD in Applied Linguistics, with a focus on Foreign Language Teaching and Learning, from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Her most recent research has centered on the development of writing skills and the role of literature in language learning.
