Biography

Professor Holly Baker is an associate professor of editing and publishing in the Department of Linguistics at BYU. Before coming to BYU, she was the Director of Professional Writing in the English Department at Purdue University and taught courses in editing and publishing, print and digital design, technical and business writing, and creative writing.

In addition to her academic life, Professor Baker has been a professional editor since 2004. She also has an active writing life and has published numerous short works in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. She has advised many authors on their way to publication and has a passion for storytelling and wordsmithing. Her greatest joy is mentoring students to become successful thinkers, writers, and editors.
