Biography
Julie Damron received her B.A. from Brigham Young University in English, her M.A.T. in TESOL, from The School for International Teaching in Brattleboro, Vermont, and her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Purdue University, in 2000. She is an Associate Professor and Associate Section Head of Korean in the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages. She oversees all TAs in the Korean section, directs internships and direct enrollment and oversees the foreign language house. Dr. Damron developed and teaches all of BYU’s independent study Korean courses and BYU’s new “BYU Online” hybrid Korean classes. She is active in the profession with yearly or semiyearly presentations and publications including her recent book, Teaching in The U.S. A Guide for International Educators (2014). Dr. Damron serves as a reviewer for highly respected journals and organizations such as Foreign Language Annals, Fulbright-Hays, Routledge Publishers.
