Biography

Nancy Turley graduated from Brigham Young University and went on to be a full-time mother of 7 children. Deciding to continue her schooling, she attended ASU receiving a Ph.D. in Linguistics. She has taught at BYU since 2008, beginning as an adjunct, and also taught ESL classes at UVU for 12 years. Since 2020 she has been a visiting full-time professor at BYU.

Research Interests

I am committed to learning all I can about relationships between place and product that relate to the history of English.

Teaching Interests

I am fascinated by language change, which encompasses the history of the English language, grammar, sociolinguistics, research methods, and survey of English.
