Biography

Piper Vasicek is a Visiting Professor in the Linguistics Department at BYU, where she recently finished a PhD in computer science. She loved linguistics even before she had a name for it and originally studied English linguistics at BYU before toppling into web development for several years and eventually, returning to study computer science. Her research explores how large language models can generate footnotes and other helpful information for readers on demand. Piper lives in Orem with her husband and three kids, and loves reading, board games, and swimming with her family.
