Biography

Vashti Wai Yu Lee's work often explores how minoritized individuals navigate power relations in society and how these dynamics affect their sense of belonging in communities to which they have an affinity. Her research endeavors in relation to this question have centered on the following few areas:
1. Identity, ideology, and emotions in language learning and teaching
2. Language policy planning, implementation, and practice
3. Multilingualism and (non)belonging in heritage, immigrant, and transnational contexts
