Francophone Fair

Students explore the French-speaking world in one night.

On February 9, the French & Italian Department put on the Francophone Fair, an event dedicated to the French-speaking regions of the world. Booths featured locations such as Switzerland, Haiti, Belgium, Quebec, Cameroon, Marseille, and Lorraine. Attendees could stop by any booth to hear facts about the region, view images of important buildings, and sample cuisine native to that region. The fair allowed current students to get ideas about where they can travel and use their French. It also gave students a chance to share about missions, study abroad programs, and other travel opportunities where they visited the locations shared. As students mingled, many of them shared similar experiences and bonded over their love of French. A single language united a whole group of peoples and cultures in an evening of fun.
